Walter Thomas “Tommy” Perry, 60, of Haddock, passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021. The family will greet friends Saturday, September 18, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Haddock Baptist Church with the Reverend Ron McClung officiating.
Tommy was born in Bordeaux, France on March 23, 1961. He and his family then moved to Ohio and Kansas before taking up permanent residence in Haddock, where he attended Jones County Schools. At the age of 17, he began working at Cherokee Products as a mechanic where he worked for the next 20 years. He married his soulmate, Lisa, on November 21, 1987. They then devoted their lives to each other and their three sons. In October of 2012, he achieved a lifelong dream of opening his own automotive repair shop, Hwy 22 Automotive, where he quickly established himself as a trusted mechanic, exemplified by his countless loyal customers.
During time away from his business, Tommy loved vacationing at the beach with his family, spending time on his hunting land, and spoiling his grandsons. Many Sundays, he and Lisa enjoyed Jeep rides down country roads. Tommy loved his wife, was proud of his sons, adored his daughters-in-law, and would do anything that his grandsons asked him to do.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Lisa Ard Perry of Haddock; children, Kyle Perry (Kristi), Kody Perry (Brittanie), and Kaleb Perry; grandchildren, Benji and Nolan Perry; siblings, Charles Perry (Dianne), George Perry, Gail Perry, and Martha Jackson; father-in-law, Ronald Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Shizue Perry, sister, Carolyn Perry and mother-in-law, Joyce Rogers.
