Virginia Thompson Couch

Virginia Thompson Couch, 90, of Macon, GA, died Monday, September 13, 2021.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 18, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola with Dr. Jimmy Asbell officiating.  The family will greet friends following the service.  Private burial will be held at Riverside Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Vineville United Methodist Church, 2045 Vineville Ave, Macon, GA 31204, or Susan G. Daughter of the late Otis and Hazel Stokes Thompson, Mrs. Couch attended Hollins University and graduated from the University of Georgia.  She was also a member of Chi Omega Sorority.  She loved her family, traveling, Atlanta sports, and playing Bridge with her close friends.

 Mrs. Couch was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Nathaniel “Jack” Jackson Couch; brother, Dr. Otis Richard Thompson; and sister, Claire Thompson DuBose.

Mrs. Couch is survived by her children, Nathaniel Jackson Couch Jr. (Kimberley) of Aiken, South Carolina, Virginia Thompson Couch (Fehmi Dogan) of Izmir, Turkey, and Richard Jefferson Couch (Lesley) of Marietta, Georgia; grandchildren, Greer Couch, Cooper Couch (Logan), Margaret Adams, Lara Couch, and Baris Dogan; and great-grandchild, Gaven Couch.
