Vicki “Gigi” Churchwell Coleman

Vicki Churchwell Coleman, 54, of Macon, GA, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 after a battle with Covid Pneumonia.  A celebration of her life will be held Sunday, October 17, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend Dewayne Fontenot officiating.  The family will greet friends from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. The service will be streamed on Hart’s Facebook page.  Everyone is being asked to please wear a face mask and follow CDC guidelines.

Vicki was the daughter of the late H.B. and June Lafaye Churchwell of Gray, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Lee Churchwell and brother-in law, Roger Pate. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeff Coleman of Macon; children, Kasey Carr (Jenny) of Gray and Kelli Carr of Macon; grandchildren, Kinsley and Knox Carr of Gray; sisters, Sandy Butler (Don) of Bonaire, Georgia, Glenda Pate of Augusta, Georgia and Anne Hood (Allen) of Gray; and beloved Shih Tzu, Jaci.

There will never be another one like our Vicki.  If you knew her, you loved her. She loved unconditionally.  She had a heart of gold and a smile that would light up the world. The love in her heart was so pure you could feel it no matter how near or far.  Our lives are forever changed from being blessed with such a beautiful soul.

Growing up she was known to her sisters as Cinderella. They shared a sisterly bond that could never be broken.  Oh, the stories they tell!

Through the years Vicki held various administrative positions at Piggly Wiggly, Anderson Chemical, L E Schwartz & Son and The Methodist Home for Children & Youth but none of those were as rewarding as the last four years when she became “Gigi” to Kinsley and Knox.  They became her world.  She spent every available moment with them from backyard swings to park visits to beach trips. According to Kinsley “Her Gigi was the Best!”

We will all miss her gentle heart, sweet smile and beautiful blue eyes until we meet again.  God Bless You My Special Angel!!
