July 28, 1954- September 4, 2020 Fort Valley, GA – Vernon L Crouch, Jr, 66, of Fort Valley, GA passed away Friday, September 4, 2020 at his residence. Vernon was born July 28, 1954 in Bainbridge, GA to the late Jean and Vernon Crouch. Vernon was a graduate of Mark Smith High School in Macon and attended GA College in Milledgeville, Ga. He was employed at RAFB for over 29 years. He was a Supervisor prior to his retirement in 2017. Prior to his employment with RAFB, he worked at Lockheed Martin for over 7 years.
Vernon “Corky” (what his family called him) was a kind and generous man who was always there to assistant and help others in need. He had a great sense of humor and everyone that knew him would say the same. Corky never met a stranger and was always kind to everyone. You could find him almost every morning at Denny’s having breakfast with his friend Charlie.
He loved animals, especially horses. He loved the outdoors and taking care of his farm in Fort Valley, GA.
The memorial service will be Saturday, September 12 at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Harts Funeral Home located on Cherry Street Macon, GA. Bro Phil Bryant will be officiating the ceremony.
Due to Covid-19- The family will greet close family members and friends following the service. Masks will be required.
Survivors include his brother, Mark (Angie) Crouch of Warner Robins, GA, his sister Fran Crouch of Byron, GA, and his nephew Cole Crouch. Other survivors include cousins, aunts, uncles and his close friends from RAFB.
Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31052 has charge of arrangements.
