Suzanne Mason, 64, of Byron, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, June 4, 2022, at Byron United Methodist Church with Dr. Anita Crump and the Reverend Sam Lamback officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Byron City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Byron United Methodist Church, Choir Fund, 105 W Heritage Blvd, Byron, GA 31008.
Daughter of the late George Dunham and Helen Kernaghan, Suzanne was the salutatorian of her graduating class at Stratford Academy of 1975 and graduated summa cum laude at Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in mathematics of which she was profoundly proficient. She was a member of Byron United Methodist Church for over 35 years where she was active in the choir. She was a member of the Dixie Crows. Suzanne was known for her math brilliancy, crocheting, making blankets for her family and all the newborn babies in the church, bell player, colored hair, and her love of hats. With an eccentric personality, she loved reading, watching wrestling, spending time with her cats, riding with Richard on his motorcycle, and being the loudest cheerleader for her kids.
Suzanne is survived by her husband of 41 years, Richard Paul Mason; daughter, Elaine Graham (Travis) of Kathleen; two sons, Ray Mason (Kaitlyn) of Warner Robins and David Mason of Bonaire; eight grandchildren, Braylen Graham, Tynlee Graham, Aiden DeMichiel, Brayden Mason, Victoria Mason, Archer Mason, Josie Hutto, and Lainey Mason; and sister, Dorothy Yelton (David) of Elko, Georgia.
