Sarah Adams Lanier, 96, of Commonwood Village in Tiger, Georgia, passed away July 27, 2020. The family will hold a private graveside service at the Allentown United Methodist Church cemetery in Allentown, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her memory to the Allentown Cemetery Fund; c/o Martha Ann Davidson, P.O. Box 74, Allentown, Georgia 31003.
Sarah was born on July 2, 1924 to Wyriott Cason and Kathleen King Adams of Allentown, Georgia. She resided most of her life in Macon, GA before moving to Commonwood Village in 2014 to be close to family.
Sarah worked for GMAC many years before her retirement. She loved to hunt, fish, golf, play tennis and travel. Most of all, she loved to spend time with her many nieces and nephews in Raburn County.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Lanier, and her infant son. She and “Bill” enjoyed 60 happy years of marriage.
Her survivors include a niece, Kathy Adams Keller of Clayton, nephews, Cason Adams of Atlanta, Allen Adams of Clayton, Tom Adams of Raburn Gap, and Sam Adams of Clayton. Sarah had nine great nieces and nephews and seven great, great nieces & nephews. Sarah also leaves behind two close friends from Cannonwood Village, Kathy Barnes and Shannon Alley. She will also be missed by her little dog, Susie.
