Samuel Paul Anderson, Jr., 83, of 231 Oak Haven Avenue, died Tuesday, March 29, 2016. Services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00PM at Vineville Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Kremer officiating. The family will greet friends at Vineville Baptist Church in the Guest Reception Area on Saturday at 1:00PM and on Sunday from 4:00PM until 6:00PM at Darby Funeral Home, 480 East Main Street, Canton, Georgia 30114. Graveside services will be held on Monday at 2:30 at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, P. O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Virginia 22312 or to Vineville Baptist Church, 2591 Vineville Avenue, Macon, Georgia 31204. Born in Morganton, North Carolina, Mr. Anderson spent most of his youth in Laurens, South Carolina, where he played offensive guard for Laurens High School. He graduated from Clemson University with a degree in mechanical engineering and earned his JD from Mercer University. Mr. Anderson was an officer in the United States Army, serving in Korea. He was a mechanical engineer at Robins Air Force Base for forty-one years. A longtime member of Vineville Baptist Church, he loved hunting, fishing, wood-working and following Clemson athletics. Mr. Anderson was predeceased by his sister, Ann Anderson Kidwai, and two brothers, Billy Anderson and Charles Anderson. Mr. Anderson is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, MaBelle "B" Lyon Anderson of Macon; children, Samuel Paul Anderson, III (Karla) of Warrenton, Virginia, Sharon Anderson White (Mark) of Alexandria, Virginia, William Ray Anderson III (Dr. Jinlene Chan) of Odenton, Maryland and Carol Suzanne Anderson of Atlanta, Georgia; grandsons, Brett Anderson (LeighAnn), Derrick Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Grant Anderson, Alexander White, Nicholas White (Allison), Ian White, Kysinn Chan, Easen Chan, and Jiran Chan; sisters, Ray Anderson Pettus (Bill) and Mary Anderson Lewis; brother, John Anderson (Marty); brother-in-law, Salah Kidwai; sisters-in-law, Nell Tippens Lyon and Patricia Fowler (Larry).
