Sally Baker

Sarah “Sally” Orr Baker, 80, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024.  A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father John Johnson Officiating. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery (North Gate.)

Daughter of the late Samuel Leonard Orr and Sarah Louise Orr, Sally was born in Macon on October 5, 1943.  Loving by nature, Sally's joyous spirit and warm smile left a profound impact on all who knew her. An avid golfer, she found delight in the game. Off the course, she reveled in the adventure of travel, always exploring new places. Sally also loved playing scrabble, her sharp mind and witty use of language brought joy and laughter to many game nights. Her adoration for dogs was evident, with her compassionate heart extending to every four-legged friend she encountered.

Sally will be lovingly remembered by her husband, James Baker; sons, Joe Baker and Dan Baker (Kara); grandchildren, Lilly and Harper; brother, Sam Orr; and sisters, Pat Byrnside and Beth Thompson.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her brother, Herbert Orr.
