Ruth Mosely Green

Ruth Ray Mosely Green, 85, of Macon, went to be with her Lord Monday, September 21, 2020. A Memorial Service will be Saturday, September 26, 2020 at 3:30 PM in the chapel Ingleside Baptist Church with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. A graveside memorial will be held later in December.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hubert Mosely and Loyce Abbie Ray Mosely; her husband of forty-nine years, Doye E. Green, Sr.; and daughter, Donna Ruth Green Fennell. She is survived by her son, Doye Engrid Green, Jr.; grandchildren, Doye E. Green, III (Jessica), Kristen Abby Green Fox (Chad), Lindsay Brooke Green, Jessica Ruth Fennell Chapman (Cole), and Brian Christopher Fennell (Sarah); brother, Thomas Hubert Mosely, Jr.; and six great-grandchildren.

Ruth graduated from Miller High School for Girls in Macon, Georgia, and attended Mercer University where she graduated with honors and was a member of ADPi Sorority. She taught school in the Bibb County Education system for twenty-two years. Ruth was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was a faithful Christian, and an active member at Ingleside Baptist Church. She loved reading and traveling, especially to St. Simon’s Island where she would sit on the pier reading and waiting to see what the fishermen would pull up in their nets. She was always ready for a road trip and was a wonderful traveling companion.

Ruth was a Godly woman and shining example of how to live a good Christian life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother; she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
