Roy Lee Minter, 73, of Jones County, GA, passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2023. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel officiated by the Reverend David Campere. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held following the service at Ramah Cemetery in Gordon, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jones County Animal Services, 1015 Monticello Hwy, Gray, GA 31032.
Son of the late Willie Thomas “Bo” and Agnes Upshaw Minter, Mr. Minter was an active member of Riverside United Methodist Church. He loved his family, outdoors, and doing yardwork, especially, cutting grass. He was a member of Hold’em Hook Fish Club. He retired from Georgia Power after 47 years of service.
Mr. Minter is survived by his wife, Brenda Phillips Minter of Jones County; children, Tammy Wolters (Kurt) of Fort Myers, Florida and Kristy Jackson (Shannon) of Gray, Georgia; stepchildren, Anthony Wade Bradley of Macon, and Landon Mark Bradley (Shannon) of Leesburg, Georgia; grandchildren, Michael Hancock, Lynsey Hancock, Logan Hancock, and Chase Jackson all of Gray; step grandchildren, Cassidy Blount (Dalton) of Macon, Melina Lewis (Ryan Bryant) of Athens, Georgia, and Joseph Bradley of Leesburg, Georgia; great grandchildren, Jackson Wilder, Grayson Lane, and Lily Hancock; step grandchildren, Easton Alewine and Colt Bryant; brothers, James Minter (Geneva) and Leonard Minter both of Gray; sisters, Betty Hunter of Jones County and Fay Minter of Macon; numerous nieces and nephews; and his cat, Boots.
