Ronald “Ronnie” Franklin Blalock

Ronald “Ronnie” Franklin Blalock, 74, of Macon, GA, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023.  A memorial service will be held Monday, August 21, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hart’s at the Cupola with the Reverend Tommy Jordan officiating.  The family will greet friends 1 hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214.

Son of the late Frank Blalock and Joe and Virginia "Jenny” Gibbs Bailey, Ronnie was born in Albany, GA and grew up in Macon.  He was a 1968 graduate of Lanier High School and a graduate of North Georgia College.  He then worked in the flooring business for many years before retiring.

Ronnie was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed going to craft shows where he sold handmade arts and crafts with his wife for over 30 years. He made many long-lasting friendships during those years. 

Ronnie was a wonderful and loving husband and father.  He was also a wonderful dad to all his furbabies.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Suttles Blalock of Macon; sons, Brian Blalock of Macon and Jason Blalock of Greensboro, North Carolina; brother, Joseph Bailey, Jr. of Macon; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.

In addition to his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his son, Hunter Blalock.
