Robert “Rabbit” Guyte Colvin, Sr., 77, of Gray, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with the Reverend Donnie Melton officiating. The family will greet friends following the service.
Son of the late Samuel Franklin and Hazel Smith Colvin, Robert was an avid hunter with many stories and a member of the Boykin Society. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He possessed a larger-than-life heart and loved everyone that knew him and everyone he met. Robert was preceded in death by his son, Frankie Colvin; brothers, Johnny F. Colvin, and Chuck Colvin; and sister, Sylvia McDonald.
Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patsy Colvin of Gray; children, Robbie Colvin (Sharon) of Gray and Tammy Wells (Ken) of Milledgeville; grandchildren, Harlie Sharp, Gage Sharp, Jessie Bright (Todd) of Gray, and Dillon Colvin of Gray; great grandchildren, Ellie, Mason, Libbie, and Owen Bright; and numerous nieces and nephews.
