Robert "Bob" Gamble

Robert "Bob" Gamble, 85, of 221 Shadow Court, Byron, Georgia, died Saturday, May 11, 2013. Services will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 10:00AM in the Chapel of Hart's at the Cupola, 6324 Peake Road, with the Reverends Franklin Etheridge, Micah Carr, and Ronnie Hollis officiating. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Wednesday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Cupola. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, 5455 Mount Pleasant Road, Macon, Georgia 31216 or to the American Cancer Society, 804 Cherry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201. Mr. Gamble was predeceased by his wife, Peggy Gamble, and his daughter, Paula Cain. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. Gamble retired from Robins Air Force Base after thirty-five years as an electronics technician manager. Since 1984, he had worked at Hart's Mortuary as night manager. Mr. Gamble is survived by his grandsons, Bobbie Whitehouse (Alicia), Steven Whitehouse (Rebekah) and Jamie Cain (Raina); great-grandchildren, Chelsea, Austin, Tucker, Katelynn, Caleb, Tirzah, Serah, Jaden and Riley; brothers and sister, Gene Gamble, Dale Gamble, Dennis Gamble and Patty Meeks.
