Rev. Franklin Bruce Clark, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home on February 13, 2024.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Northminster Presbyterian Church on Wimbish Road, Macon, Georgia. The family will greet friends at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m. and at the reception following the service at the church. The Rev. Ralph Hawkins of Macon will officiate. Interment will be at Green Spring Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Abingdon, Virgina on Saturday, February 17, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. officiated by the Rev. Deidra Crosby and the Rev. Jacob Singleton.

Rev. Clark was born in Abingdon, Virgina on July 11, 1932. He lived in Abingdon until he went into the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He Served from 1952 until 1956, he spent his duty aboard the USS Saipan. He served as an Aviation Electrician’s Mate as a 2nd Class Petty Officer. Rev. Clark attended Hiwassee College in Madisonville, Tennessee, graduated from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee and received a Master of Divinity Degree in 1962 from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. He married Miss Evelyn Boyd of Abingdon, Virginia in 1954. Rev. Clark was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Bruce Clark, Sr. and Lucille Clark Mosley of Abingdon, Virginia, as well as, his sister Martha Clark Ireson Preston and two son’s Franklin Bruce Clark, III and Alston Boyd Clark.

Rev. Clark served as Pastor of Presbyterian Churches in LaGrange, Georgia, Stockbridge, Georgia, Perry, Georgia and Macon, Georgia. He retired from the Clinchfield Presbyterian Church in Perry, Georgia in February of 2007, after serving there twenty-five years. He served forty-five years in the ministry. He was a member of Flint River Presbytery where he served on the Committee of Ministry and on the Finance Committee. He was the Moderator of Augusta-Macon Presbytery in 1975 and served as a Commissioner to the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church USA in 1977. His hobbies included golf, restoring antique Farmall tractors, and driving tour buses.

Rev. Clark is survived by his wife of sixty-nine years, Evelyn Boyd Clark, two sons, John Graham Clark (Lynn) Tiger, Georgia, and Dr. Edward Kearfott Clark, Macon, Georgia, daughter in Law, Vicki Clark Jackson (Chuck), Lizella, Georgia, and adopted daughter, Rena Wainwright Kearnes (James), Macon, Georgia, brothers John Kelly Clark (Patty) Abingdon, Virgina, and Joseph Graham Clark (Pat) Manassas, Virginia, one sister Mary Hope Clark Lee (Mike) Johnson City, Tennessee, four grandchildren, Franklin Bruce Clark IV (Caitlyn), Pawley’s Island, South Carolina, Sidney Nicole Clark, Buffalo, Pennsylvania, Molly Kate Clark Cromer (Zack) Sycamore, Georgia, Ansley Alston Clark Carrouthers (Jack) Macon, Georgia, and eight great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
