Raymond Walter Huff, 74, of Macon, passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, May 20, 2021, at Hart’s at the Cupola.
Raymond was born in Macon on January 9, 1947, to the late Raymond Eugene Huff and Evelyn Harrison Huff. He graduated from Willingham High School. Upon graduation, he joined the United States Air Force, where he played semi-professional football for the Bittsburg Bears in Germany. He later attended Georgia Southwestern and Georgia College, where he earned his nursing and business degrees. Raymond worked in the healthcare field for 30 years. He was currently employed as a Bailiff with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department. Mr. Huff was a former member of the Macon Touchdown Club and the Middle Georgia Cruisers.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Launa Collins Huff; daughter, Laurel Bowen Huff; grandson, Alex Willis; sister, Patricia Huff (Robert); brother, Billy Huff (Patti); mother-in-law, Dorothy Collins; and his beloved dog, Jingles.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Raymond, to Saint Joseph’s Catholic School or Mount de Sales Academy in Macon.
