Miriam Kay Comer Jones, 77, of Macon, died Friday, July 3, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, July 7, 2020 at Plentitude Baptist Church with the Reverend Tommy Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday from 6pm to 8pm at Hart’s, Jones County Chapel. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Plentitude Baptist Church Building Fund.
Kay was a lifelong member of Plentitude Baptist Church where she served as Junior School Teacher for 30 years and director of Vacation Bible School for 25 years. She was a longtime member of the Plentitude Homemakers Club. She was the daughter of the late Walker Humphries Comer and Mabel Annette Broach Comer.
Kay is survived by her husband of 60 years, Delma E. Jones of Jones County; three daughters, Kristy Pope (Jeff) of Bonaire, Kema Bishop (Mark) of Gray, and Kelli Smith (David) of Gray; six grandchildren, Steve Pace (Emily) of Gray, Erica Beach (Erik) of Warner Robins, Austin Ryals of Gray, Seth Ryals of Gray, Megan Heath (TJ) of Gray, and Kayla Smith of Gray; nine great grandchildren, Ansleigh Williams, Ashlynne Williams, Hunter Pace, Jacob Beach, Rylee Beach, Elijah Beach, Holland Heath, Halle Heath, Makenzie Joiner; bother, Glenn Comer (Ann) of Gray; twin brother, Ray Comer (Carolyn) of Gray; and sister, Janis Poole of Gray.
Hart’s Mortuary and Cremation Center, Jones County Chapel, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31052 has charge of arrangements.
