A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 4, 2021, at Northview Cemetery in Dublin, officiated by the Reverend Karl Hunter.
Daughter of the late Henry Tillman and Claudia Garnto Coleman, Mrs. Henderson was born in Shelby, North Carolina. During the Great Depression, her parents had to move the family back home to Laurens County, Georgia to the White Springs community where Mrs. Henderson was raised. One of Mrs. Henderson’s favorite childhood memories was attending Sunday School and church services at her beloved White Springs Baptist Church. She was the epitome of having a servant’s heart. Her children only recently discovered that she was offered a scholarship to Georgia State College for Women after high school graduation, but due to her father’s early passing she instead went to work to help support her sister and mother. A devoted daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a ray of sunshine with an infectious laugh and anyone who met her instantly knew a friend. A devout Christian, she enjoyed the peace that passes all understanding. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church where she and her late husband formerly taught Sunday school in the Preschool Department.
Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Robert Earl Henderson, brothers Eschol Coleman and Leland Coleman.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by her children, Wanda Westmoreland Sizemore (Talmadge) of Macon, Charlotte Bearden (Billy) of Macon, Beth Hunter (Karl) of Bluffton, South Carolina, Robin Townsend (Henry) of Brunswick, Georgia, and Mark Henderson (Tammy) of Auburn, Alabama; grandchildren, Amy Loyd (Waylon), of Macon, Chad Westmoreland (Stephanie) of Eatonton, Georgia, Brittany Kendall (Darren) of Alpharetta, Georgia, McKendrick Bearden of Athens, Georgia, Sarah King (Scott) of Bluffton, Katie Hunter (Alex Mercer) of Arlington, Virginia, Annalee Hunter of Savannah, Georgia, Rhett Rhemann of Clarksville, Tennessee, Rebecca Blankenship (Brian) of Cadwell, Georgia, Lauren Evans of Macon, and Kristen Evans of Chattanooga, Tennessee; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew, Victoria, Ean, Garrett, Ellie, Reid, James and Lucas; one great-great grandchild Weston; sister, Martha Jones of Newington, New Hampshire; and sister-in-law, Daisy Coleman of Hawkinsville, Georgia; and many nieces and nephews.
