Margaret Hall Obituary

Margaret Ann Moody Hall, 88, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2021.   She had been a resident of Carlyle Place in Macon for almost eleven years. A memorial service will be held at Hart’s at the Cupola on 6324 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia, on Saturday, September 18, at 1:00 P.M., with the Reverend Dr. Tommy Jordan officiating.  Friends and family may visit at 12:00 P.M. before the service.  This Celebration of Life will be live streamed on the Hart’s Mortuary Facebook page. 

Margaret was born in Colquitt, Georgia, on August 18, 1933, to Will and Rosa Bell Moody.   She was the third of nine children.  Margaret retired from AT&T in 1987 as a Training Supervisor after thirty years of service.  In her spare time, she enjoyed visiting with friends and family, working in her yard, traveling, and doing volunteer work in her church and community.  She always loved to sing and was called “Songbird” by the staff after she became a resident at Carlyle.

Margaret is survived by her children: daughter, Sherrie Gray and husband Austin, daughter, Willogene Camp and husband Donald, stepson, Phillip Fender and wife Dru, stepdaughter, Lynette Shearhouse and husband John, stepdaughter, Karen Hall, and stepson Michael Fender and family. Grandchildren:  Kelley Gray, Donald Camp, Jr. and wife Julie, Joyce Fender, Lucy McCloud and husband Lyle, David Gray, Alicia Kirk and husband Carey, and Sam Fender. Great Grandchildren:  Cassidy Hatcher, Cohen Camp, Hunter Ann Kirk, Maggie McCloud, Jameson Kirk, Wells McCloud, and Parker Kirk. Siblings:  Dallas Moody, Ed Moody and wife Nancy, Bill Moody and wife Monteen, Patricia Hodge and husband Van, Jim Moody and wife Ann, Linda Britton and husband Paul, and a “passel” of nieces and nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by: Parents Will and Rosa Bell Moody, sister Rosa Nell Moody, brother J.T. Moody, stepson Johnny Fender, grandson Johnny Fender, Jr., ex-husband Frankie Fender, and spouse Jim Hall.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Margaret’s honor to The American Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Association, or All Saints Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 727, Tybee Island, GA 31328.
