Marcell Biggie Harrison was born on August 22,1920, in Pendleton, Texas, to Tom and Bell Harrison. Marcell passed away on August 23, 2022, in Macon, Georgia, at the age of 102. Marcell and his identical twin brother Odell were the last two of ten children in the family. Marcell was raised in Temple, Texas and attended Temple Junior High. After junior high, Marcell's father moved to Cisco, Texas and took Marcell, Odell, and older brother, Cullen with him so the boys could play high school football for the Cisco Loboes. All three boys were great athletes and Marcell played college football and basketball at Texas Christian University and Texas Wesleyan College.

After college, Marcell served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He saw combat at the Battle of the Bulge and was awarded the EAMET Ribbon, WWII Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and Combat Infantry Badge. After his military service, Marcell returned to Texas where he completed his Masters Degree at The University of Texas in Austin in 1953. He taught school in south Texas until his older brother John “Cotton” Harrison, who lived in Macon, called him and asked him to move to Macon and teach school and coach sports. A few years after arriving in Macon he met Rena Adams. They were married in 1959. He taught here for 33 years and made many friends and touched many lives.

Marcell was active in the Masonic Lodge having earned his Master Mason degree in 1951. He served for over 60 years as a Freemason. He was a Past Master of Macon Lodge No.5 and his home lodge William A. Davis No. 753. He was a 33rd degree Scottish Rite Mason and dedicated member of Al Sihah Shriners, the York Rite Bodies of Macon, the Order of the Eastern Star and other Masonic bodies.

Marcell was predeceased by his parents and all nine of his siblings, as well as his wife of 51 years, Rena Harrison. He is survived by multiple nieces and nephews including Avery Joplin, Frederica Thompson, and Mollie Payne, of Texas.
