Lynette Layson O’Nan, 83, of Macon, died Friday, April 16, 2021. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Rose Hill Cemetery with the Reverend John Kinser officiating. The family will greet friends Wednesday at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry Street, Macon, GA 31201.
Lynette was born in Arlington, Georgia to the late Virginia Askew and William T. Layson. She was a graduate of Albany High School. Lynette was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. She was active in Golden Opportunities Seniors group and enjoyed participating with her breast cancer survivors' group.
Lynette is survived by her husband of 33 years, Steve O’Nan of Macon; four children, David James, Jr. (Sharon) of Augusta, Georgia, Scott James (Kathy) of Perry, Georgia, Laura J. Mullis of Perry, and Mark James (Candi) of Perry; stepson, Pat O’Nan (Tami) of Marietta; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother, Charlie Layson (Gail) of Jefferson, Georgia; two sisters, Betsy Nelson (Roy), and Sally Gray, both of Albany; and several nieces and nephews.
