Louise Greene Miller, 87, of Gray, GA, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2023. The family will greet friends Friday, February 3, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel with Pastor Darrell Burns and the Reverend Debbie Wallace officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Greene Family Cemetery in Gray. Flowers are appreciated and memorial contributions may be made to Haddock Christian Church, 117 N Oak St., Haddock, GA 31033.
Daughter of the late Bolden Thomas and Rosa Mae Dixon Greene, Mrs. Miller was born in Miami, Florida, and moved to Jones County at the age of 9 years old. She lived within a mile of the family home her entire life. She was the oldest member of Haddock United Methodist Church, now known as Haddock Christian Church, having been a member for 60 years. She loved to read the Bible. Mrs. Miller worked for Cooper’s Store, which became Danner’s for many years. She later retired from Gray Drug. She loved her Lord, her family, times spent together, fishing, the Georgia Bulldogs, and traveling. She visited many places in the United States and the Holy Land.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Earl Harris Miller, and brothers, Bernard Greene, Jerry Greene, and Raymond Greene.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff of Lynn Haven Nursing Home for the care they provided to Mrs. Miller over the last couple of months.
Mrs. Miller is survived by her children, Evelyn McCranie, Joel Miller (Sherry), and Rebecca Nalley (Trey), all of Gray; grandchildren, Joshua McCranie (Amanda), Matthew McCranie, Tonya Cook (Chris), Jodi Privette (Marcus), Travis Miller (Sherian) of Macon, Colby Daniels (Kalyn) of Gray, Bryce Daniels (Garland Lutz), Brittany Watts (Gus), and Harlee Pierce (Jordan); great-grandchildren, Mackenzie McCranie (Landon Richardson), Jenna McCranie, Samantha McCranie, Kylie McCranie, Tyler English, Harley Weeks (Hunter), Taylor Hayslip (Lane), Hays Daniels, Grover Watts, and Clayton Pierce; great-great grandchildren, Riley Weeks and Ridge Hayslip; special niece, Deborah Weiner; her Saturday night dinner and movie partner, sister-in-law, Martie Greene; and numerous nieces and nephews.
