Lonnie "Earl" Jordan Obituary

Lonnie “Earl” Jordan, 93, of 134 Jordan Drive, Twiggs County, GA, passed away in North Carolina on Saturday, February 3, 2024.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 9, 2024, at 11:00 AM, at Hart’s Cherry Street Chapel, with the Reverend Billy Lowe officiating.  The family will greet friends for a time of visitation one hour prior to service. Burial will be at the Jordan Family Cemetery.

Lonnie was born in Wheeler County, Georgia, on September 25, 1930, to the late Dan Nichols and Lula Benton Jordan.  He worked on the family farm until he met his future wife, Doris Spivey in Soperton, Georgia.  They dated for three months and were married on Christmas Day in 1948.  They moved to Twiggs County to begin a new job at GA Kaolin Mine.  He retired in 1992, and began his second career raising cattle, horses, and gardening. He enjoyed fishing when he had the time.  Lonnie was known to be straight-forward but was a loving and caring man. He and Doris enjoyed going in a camper to Blue Grass Festivals across Georgia. After Doris passed, he met and married Tracy Rose Bard of Forest City, NC. They spent peaceful times together in NC where she taught him to enjoy her special lattes. He loved a good twelve-layer chocolate cake; but the greatest love of his life was his family.  He was a Godly man, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his wife Tracy Rose Bard Jordan; children, Patricia Bates (Larry), Danny Jordan (Mary), Anita Meeler, Brenda Torstenson, and David Jordan (Sissy); Stepchildren Greg Foster, Shari Davis, and “Baby Girl” Laura Stewart; his eighteen grandchildren; his thirty-six great-grandchildren; and twenty-two great-great-grandchildren; and extended family. He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Doris Spivey Jordan; and his children, LaGail Jordan, Theresa Jordan, and Darrell Jordan.
