Linda Young Hardison Tucker, 78, of Greensboro, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2022. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 11, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at Elam Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Bob Whitmire officiating.
Daughter of the late Otis Young and Lillian Anderson, Mrs. Tucker was born in Morgan County, Georgia. After graduating from Morgan County High School, she worked at the local telephone company in Madison, Georgia. In the early 1960’s, she moved to Macon, Georgia to live with her sister. There she met her first husband, Robert Lanier Hardison. They married in 1964 and started a family. Opportunity arose and they moved to Atlanta. She was a homemaker for a while but soon began her work life with Fisher Scientific Labs. In her later years, she worked at Pennington Feed and Seed in Madison, Georgia. It was during this time she met her second husband, Jerry Lawson Tucker and moved to Lawrenceville, Georgia. Suffering from health issues the last couple of years of her life, she returned to Macon to be with her beloved sister, Jean Maye. Mrs. Tucker loved to dance. She could do the Jitterbug like no other. She also loved to travel, her favorite place being the ocean with the sand between her toes. She enjoyed reading and solving crossword puzzles. She was a feisty little lady who loved and cared for her family till the end.
Mrs. Tucker is preceded in death by her son, Robert Alan Hardison, her second husband, Jerry Lawson Tucker, and brother, Bobby Ray Young.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her children, Melinda Rose Hardison of Greensboro, Georgia, and Flavia Hogue (David) of Clayton, North Carolina; grandchildren, Amanda Grace Hardison and Jaxson Alan Williams of Greensboro, Daniel Hogue (Kestyn) of Morrisville, North Carolina, and Robert Hogue (Krystal) of Burgaw, North Carolina; great granddaughter, Lara Hogue of Burgaw, North Carolina; sister, Jean Maye of Gray, Georgia; brother, Charles Young (Ann) of Madison; first husband, Robert Lanier Hardison of Greensboro; and many nieces and nephews.
