Leigh Alonzo Hasty, 57, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, 2023, at Hart’s at the Cupola, followed by a funeral service on Monday, May 8, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Riverside Cemetery.
Leigh was a graduate of Central High School, a boatswain’s mate second class in the United States Navy, did some work on a literary degree at Middle Georgia State, a bartender and owner of O’Nealeigh’s Bar, a rigger and caretaker for the Georgia Dome and various other venues in Macon, Atlanta, and surrounding areas, and owner and manager of Woodlawn Memorial Park. He loved many and was loved by many. He will be sorely missed.
Leigh is survived by his sister, Emily Elizabeth Brantley (Gregory Steven) of Macon, Georgia; nieces: Jenna Lynn Brantley, Summer Cheyenne Foskey, and Emily Lauren Brantley; uncle, Mick Anderson (Margaret Ann) of Macon, Georgia; aunt, Laurie Anderson (David Robinson); and many cousins.
Leigh was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Angela Hasty; brother, Alan Milledge Hasty; aunts and uncles, Phyllis (Irving) Bulloch, Bonita (Stan) Morrison, Bob (Phyllis) Hasty, and June (James) Farist.
Flowers are welcomed, or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice, in the spirit of a “humble hero,”Leigh.
