Kenneth Michael "Ken" Gozur Obituary

Kenneth Michael “Ken” Gozur, 78, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021.

Born on December 27, 1942, to the late Mike and Mary Gozur. Ken graduated from Campbell Memorial High School and then attended Kent State University, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in 1964, and was also a member of Sigma Nu. He furthered his education at American University in Washington D.C. and earned a Juris Doctorate degree in 1972.  Ken became a DC trial lawyer, specializing in medical malpractice, international, and trade law. He was an entertainment lawyer, mostly famous for representing Peaches and Herb in the late 70s and early 80s. He served on the Board of American Trial Lawyers Association and was the General Councilor for the Fraternal Order of Police in Washington D.C. As an adjunct professor at Georgetown University, he developed the first moot court in the United States for law students. Ken was the founder and president of Masters Prep USA, a consulting firm for graduate and undergraduate studies throughout the world. 

Ken proudly served his country in the United Stated Marine Corps in Vietnam. He supported local arts, historic preservations, and was passionate for politics and world affairs. He was supportive of local politics and charities.  He was an avid reader of history and current events.  He loved to travel the world and  was an avid sports fan. He also loved his dogs, past and present.

Ken is survived by his wife of 37 years, Ginger Ann Collins-Gozur; sons, Michael Gozur (Ellen), of Charlotte, North Carolina, Matthew Gozur (Colleen), of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Arran Chandler Collins, of Purcellville, Virginia; and granddaughters, Chandler Gozur and Kerry Alice Gozur, both of Charlotte, North Carolina, and Victoria Collins, of Purcellville, Virginia; brother, David Gozur (Jo Ann) of Niles, Ohio; and sister-in-law, Judy Gozur of Campbell, Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Alice Canterbury Gozur; and brother, Richard Gozur.

A private celebration of his life will be held in Macon at a later date.
