Kenneth “Ken” Harold Andrews, 79, of Elma, Washington, passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2023.
Son of the late Harold Perry Andrews and Clara Irene Minnich Andrews, Ken was born in Bluffton, Indiana on August 17, 1944. After his graduation from Bluffton High School, Ken proudly joined the U.S. Army, a decision that led to him being deployed during the Korean War. Following his service, Ken married his wife Helen Raub at Ft. Jackson, S.C. After finishing his military career, the couple returned to Bluffton, Indiana, where he launched his private sector career with Corning Glass Industries. Life later took them to Hoquiam, Washington, where his dedication to the Timber Industry began. Ken completed his professional journey at Weyerhaeuser, where he retired after more than 35 years of committed service.
Ken had an enduring love of the outdoors, particularly enjoying fishing, hunting, and clam digging. His interests were diverse, including artistry and a demonstrated flair for beautiful penmanship. Known to be well-read, he was always prepared to engage in an in-depth discussion on a wide range of topics.
Ken is survived by his children, Perry Andrews (Tina) of Aberdeen, Washington, Raubyn Clark (Rick) of Forsyth, Georgia, and Tamarah McMullin of Boring, Oregon; grandchildren: Brett Walton of Boise, Idaho, Zachary Andrews (Dani) of Hoquiam, Washington, Krystal Crumbley (Ben) of Forsyth, Georgia, Patrick Clark (Jennifer Young) of McDonough, Georgia, J. Brad Praegitzer (Amber) of Sandy, Oregon, K. Nickolas of Boring, Oregon, Zackery Praegitzer (Jessica) of Sandy, Oregon, Dakoda Bogart (Katie) of Sandy, Oregon, and K’den McMullin (Erin) of Forest Grove, Oregon; greatgrandchildren: Hazel, Holden, Tatum, Clay, Monroe, Peyton, Lucas, Annabeth, Sawyer, JoJo, Odin, and Montie; aunt, Mary Jane Parks of Indiana; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his siblings: Oscar Andrews (Loraine), Bonnie Andrews Steffen, Earl Lee Andrews (Vivian), Betty Lou Bauman (Andy), Tommy Andrews, Mike Andrews (Becky), and Sara Jane Andrews
