Kathy Denene Marsh

Kathy Denene Marsh, 61, of Gray, Georgia, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022.  Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 12:00 PM, at the Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, with the Reverend Johnny McGowan and Pastor Tim Peavy officiating. Family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Cedar Ridge Cemetery in Gray, Georgia.

Kathy was born in Macon, on December 24, 1960, to Rose and Walker Fred Gaultney. She attended Gray Elementary School, Maggie Califf Middle School and graduated from North East High School. In 1980, she married Myron Marsh and they started a family shortly afterwards.  During this time, she also began working at A-1 Sanitation, where she worked until her death. 

She loved her family and enjoyed taking her grandchildren to Wild Adventures Theme Park several times a year.  She enjoyed weekend trips to Tybee Island with family.  She loved nature, which included planting flowers and taking care of her reptile pets.  Kathy was a dedicated member of Real Life Church in Macon.  She was always on the go and put others ahead of herself.  She never let her disability keep her down and her grandsons gave her the drive to live life to its fullest.

Kathy is survived by her children, Tracy Hutto (Tony), Joshua Marsh, Lacy Marsh, and Stacy Finney; her grandchildren, Greg Evans, Jayden Finney, Jordan Marsh, and Aiden Finney; her brothers, David Leo Gaultney and Skip Gaultney; her sister-in-law, Kim Gaultney; and her sisters, Debra Evans and Brenda Phillips. She is preceded in death by her parents, Rose Lee Gaultney and Walker Fred Gaultney; and her brother, Gene Gaultney.
