Kathryn “Kay” Lilley Allen, 96, of Carlyle Place, Macon, GA, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 3:00PM, at Carlyle Place, with the Reverend Ralph Hawkins officiating. A reception will follow the service. A private entombment will be held at Perry Memorial Gardens.
The daughter of the late Walker E. and Hazel Davis Lilley, Kay grew up in Akron, Ohio. A graduate of the University of Akron, she was affiliated with Phi Mu Fraternity, serving as the president of the Omicron Chapter; and later, the president of the Akron Alumnae Chapter. In 1962, she moved from Akron to Crown Point, Indiana, and lived there for thirteen years. There, she was a member of the Youche Country Club and was an avid golfer. In 1975, she moved to Perry, Georgia, and lived there for twenty-six years. She was a member of the Perry Country Club, where she served as the first woman on the board of directors. She was affiliated with the General Daniel Stewart Chapter NSDAR and was both Treasurer and Regent of that Chapter. After moving to Macon, she was affiliated with the Mary Hammond Washington Chapter NSDAR, Macon Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter, and the Macon Duplicate Bridge Club.
Kay loved to travel. She and her husband, Bob, took many cruises as well as many trips, both in the United States and in many foreign countries.
Kay was predeceased by her husband of sixty-one years, Robert J. Allen and her daughter-in-law, Connie Allen. She is survived by her two sons, David W. Allen of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida; and Scott D. Allen (Janelle) of Adrian, Michigan; and her three grandchildren, Samuel Allen, David A. Allen, and Elise Allen.
