Kathrine T. Peters, 92, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Friday, November 3, 2023. A Celebration of Life will be Monday, November 6, 2023, at Riverside United Methodist Church at 1:00 PM, with Dr. Laudis (Rick) Lanford and the Reverend Keith Goodlett officiating. Burial will be private at Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Hart’s Mortuary’s Cherry Street Chapel, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
Kathrine was born October 24, 1931 in Sandy Springs and graduated from North Fulton High School. She was employed at Colonial Pipeline in Atlanta when she met her first husband, John F. Ricketson, Jr., of Warrenton, Georgia. Together, they produced two sons and a daughter. Beginning in 1967, they also started and operated three successful businesses, the last one being Hearthstone Log Homes. She was also a loving wife to her second husband, Bill Peters, a successful dairy farmer and former chairman of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners.
Kathrine was preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Ann Thompson; husband, William Peters; grandson, Brian Austin Ricketson; daughter-in-law, Patti Ricketson; sister, Ruth McLain; and brother, Jim Thompson.
Kathrine is survived by her sons, John F. Ricketson, III, of Monroe County; Jack D. Ricketson, of Macon; and her daughter, Laurie R. Faircloth (Harry), of Juliette. Grandchildren, Kyle Kaufman (Haley), of Bonaire, Aubriann Pickett (Austin), of Macon, Ted Roberts (Ruth), of Chesapeake, Virginia, Todd Faircloth (Michelle), of Clayton, Georgia, Brande Barkley (Chris), of Centerville, Georgia, and Anna Bass (Alex), of Gray. Sixteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a sister, Nancy Smith (Chuck), of Duluth.
