Joseph Kenneth Cox Obituary

Joseph Kenneth Cox, born on June 30, 1944, in Ocilla, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his home in Dublin, Georgia, on March 25, 2024. He was the beloved son of Joseph Elza Cox and Carol Virginia Sandifer Cox, both of whom have preceded him in death. Ken was baptized on November 11, 1955, and remained a member of the First Baptist Church of Quitman.

Ken is survived by his loving family, including his daughters, Lona Cox Carrier (Richie) and Holli Cox Edwards (Chris); grandchildren: Chad Joseph Burch, Jr. Savannah Burch Grantham (Noah), Emily M. Edwards, and Christopher Shepard Edwards, Jr.; siblings, Gerald Cox (Connie), Yvonne Cox, and Rejinia Cox Patrick (Kerry); and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ken led a successful career as the owner of Dublin Communications and other Motorola dealerships in Georgia and South Carolina. Additionally, he founded and operated Communication System Services, Inc. (CSSI), specializing in erecting and operating cell phone and radio communication towers. Beyond his professional achievements, Ken was an avid hunter who explored the wilderness of North and South America. However, his true passion lay in boating and saltwater fishing aboard the Isabella. He cherished moments spent with family, loved ones, and close friends, all of whom will deeply miss him.

Funeral arrangements will remain private. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to be made in Ken’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (www.stjude.org) in Memphis, Tennessee.  May he rest in peace.
