Johnny Gonzalez, 90, of Macon Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024. A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, on Saturday, April 13, 2024, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary at the Cupola, with Dr. Mark Hudgins officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in honor of Mr. Johnny Gonzalez.
Johnny was born in Cuba, on June 14, 1933, to the late Blas and Aleida Corona Gonzalez. He earned his master’s degree at Georgia College. He also served his country and was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He continued with the Air Force by starting his work career in civil service at Robins Air Force Base. Johnny retired after forty-six years of service, where he started out as a machinist and then went on to serve as a mediator for the last thirty years with the EEOC. He married Waudene Neal and they were blessed with three children, Randy, Lisa, and Tracy. Johnny loved the Lord Jesus with all his heart and served Him faithfully. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Johnny is survived by his children, Randy Gonzalez (Denise) of Macon, Lisa Gonzalez-Bullard (Patrick) of Rowland, North Carolina; and Tracy Gonzalez (Teri) of Bolingbroke, Georgia; his grandchildren, Matthew Gonzalez (Christina) of Lehi, Utah; Nicole Gonzalez of Macon, Trevor Bullard of Rowland, North Carolina; Josh Gonzalez of Bolingbroke, Kristin Gonzalez of Bolingbroke; Patrick Bullard Jr., Victoria Bullard-Edmunds, and Megan Bullard; his great-granddaughter, Shade Gonzalez; his sister, Irma “Nena” Benito of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Blas and Aleida Corona Gonzalez, his wife, Waudene Neal Gonzalez; and his siblings, Olga, Olema, Gabriel, and Margot Gonzalez.
