Joel Robin Adelstone

Joel Robin Adelstone passed away September 10th, 2021, at the age of 71, at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Joel was born in Macon, Georgia on March 21st, 1950, to David Adelstone and Rosalind Adelstone. He attended Lanier High School in Macon and graduated in 1968. Joel then went on to graduate from Georgia State University in 1981 with a BBA in Accounting and Finance. In 1985 Joel opened his own accounting practice, Joel R. Adelstone and Company, CPAS, PC which saw 36 successful years until his retirement in 2020. He served companies and individuals, helping many more find success in their own financial journeys. During that time, Joel was also co-owner of Assets Grille and Brewing Company, one of his favorite ventures; Joel had a great love of food and beer, as well as the art of being a restaurateur. Over the past 40 years, Joel also served on boards of several organizations, including Sandia Biotech, Inc. Most recently, Joel worked tirelessly on a committee establishing a charter school in Albuquerque with high academic and ethical standards based on the principals of Hillsdale College.

Joel was passionate about baseball, fishing, sport shooting, Judaism, and studying the history and Constitution of the United States of America. Most of all, Joel took immense pride in his children. In 2021, Joel attended both of his children’s weddings where his abundant smiles and sincere joy were undeniable.

Joel is survived by his two children, Jason Adelstone and Rebekah Adelstone, as well as his sister, Peggy Feldman. Joel is preceded in death by his son, Joshua Adelstone, and his parents, David and Rosalind Adelstone.

Joel’s family expresses sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, and staff at Lovelace Medical Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico; specifically those who work on the 7th and 9th floors. Your compassion and care throughout his stay was astounding.

Joel was buried in Macon, Georgia at Rosehill Cemetery on Friday, September 17th. His body was laid to rest alongside his parents’. Let it be known that Joel, above all, appreciates being remembered as a loving father, patriot, and constitutionalist. May his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
