Jo O. Boland

Ms. Jo Boland, 67, of Jones County, passed away Sunday, March 17, 2024.  Memorial services will be at Hart’s Mortuary Jones County Chapel, Thursday, March 21, 2024 at 11:00AM with the Reverend Sarah Pugh Montgomery officiating. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.

Jo was born in Macon, Georgia and graduated from Northeast High School.  Hard-working and independent, she worked at Zayre’s, YKK and Stat Medical.  Jo always cut her own grass and loved the fresh vegetables from her husband’s garden.  She also enjoyed watching old Westerns and loved decorating her home for Christmas. Jo’s life was characterized by her fun-loving and caring nature.  She will be remembered as a woman who never failed to help someone in need.  More than anything, Jo loved being around family and friends and having a good time.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Mary O. Boland; brother, Edward Lee Boland; nephew, Michael Chancey; and her beloved canine companion, Dawson.  She is survived by her husband, Jerry Sapp, Sr; son, Joshua Boland (Mitch) of Macon; stepchildren, Sonja Song (Eric), Jerry C. Sapp, Jr. (Kat), and Jason Sapp (Kelly); eight step grandchildren; nine step great-grandchildren; sister, Terry Chancey (Chris) of Gray, and nieces and nephews, Lee Chancey (Karen), Tracey Boland, Amanda Chancey, Tony Boland (Jennifer), and Heather Boland (David).  

Hart’s Jones County Chapel, Hart's Mortuary and Cremation Center, 307 Pecan Lane, Gray, GA 31032 has charge of arrangements.
