Jimmy “DeeDee” Tucker, 75, of Macon, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. The family will greet friends from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at Hart’s at the Cupola, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. at Riverside Cemetery, with the Reverend Mark Goolsby officiating.
Mr. Tucker was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was born in Macon on April 19, 1947, and was a graduate of Lanier High School. He was a former board member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Georgia and a member of the Train Collectors Association. Jimmy founded and performed in two bands, The Impalas and Jimmy Tucker & The Tucker Boys. He was an entrepreneur and prominent businessman in central Georgia and was owner of a BP service station, real estate company, and Glow Oil Company. Outside of his family, he loved pets, trains, guitars, and vintage cars.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gail Tucker; daughter, Derrie Casteel (David); grandchildren, Wesley Casteel and Zachary Casteel; and close aunts, cousins, and special friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Carolyn Tucker.
