Jimmy Hatcher, Sr.

Jimmy Hatcher, 74, of Gray, passed away Thursday, December 30, 2021. The family will greet friends Tuesday, February 18, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the residence of Ricky and Angie Strickland, 135 James Road, Gray, GA 31032.

Son of the late E. J. and Eva Clyde Daniels Hatcher, Jimmy was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam.  He retired from the Macon Telegraph and News.  He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed playing golf and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Rhonda Denise Northcutt.

Edwin is survived by his wife of 50 years, Peggy Hatcher of Gray; children, Angie Strickland (Ricky) of Gray, and Edwin Jimmy Hatcher, Jr. (Patricia) of Fremont, California; grandchildren, Nikki Honeycutt, Cody Honeycutt, Caitlyn Jones (Joey), Amanda Strickland (Alexis), Austin Strickland, Edwin Jose “EJ” Hatcher, Tasha Christian (Stanley), and Harlee Miller (Hunter); 11 great grandchildren and one on the way; brother, Danny Stephens (Peggy) of Macon; niece, Tracy Stephens of Macon; nephew, Clay Stephens of Florida; and many friends he considered family.
