Reverend Jerry A. Bell, 72, of Warner Robins, died peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family, and is now rejoicing with our Lord. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at Stone Edge Church in Macon. The family will greet friends Tuesday, May 14, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Hart’s at the Cupola. Graveside service will take place at Pensacola Memorial Gardens, 1:00 PM Friday, May 17, 2019 in Pensacola, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Ste 800, Miami, FL 33131.
Born in Coffee County near Elba, Alabama, Jerry was the eldest child of the late Reverend Dock Bell of Elba, Alabama and Katie Sue Lawrence Bell of Hartselle, Alabama.
For over thirty years, Jerry’s life was devoted to serving others through pastoral ministry in Pensacola and Naples, Florida, North East, Pennsylvania, and Macon, Georgia, where he also served as a chaplain. As an Ordained Bishop of the Church of God, Cleveland Tennessee, Jerry served on various boards and committees. He also served the Church of God in the position of District Overseer, where he was appointed in Florida, Pennsylvania and Georgia. Moreover, Jerry will be mostly known for his great love for God, wife and family and then serving others.
Jerry is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Shannon Jeter Bell of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Crystal Bell of Warner Robins, Georgia; son, Matthew Bell of Macon; grandchildren, DeAnna Long and Jadyn Edler; brother, Dr. T. Phillip Bell and wife, Shirley A. Bell of Robertsdale, Alabama; sister, Peggy Sue Dawson and husband, Fred Dawson of Loxley, Alabama; and a host of nieces and nephews.
