James Lewis "Jay" Langston, 96, of Jones County, passed away Sunday, August 30, 2020. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, September 3, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hart's Mortuary, Cherry Street. The family will greet friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Alzheimer's Association, 886 Mulberry Street, Macon, Georgia 31201.
Mr. Langston grew up on a farm in Unadilla, one of seven children of David and Annis Wheeler Langston. As a young man he and his brother owned a plane and absolutely loved flying. Mr. Langston was a professional automobile mechanic and spent most of his years employed by Riverside Ford. He could fix almost anything with his hands.
James is survived by his son, Jay Alan Langston (Diane) of Richmond, Virginia; daughter, Linda Langston Bush of Macon; grandchildren, Ashley Langston, David Langston and Candler Langston, all of Richmond, Virginia and Kristen Bush Baugh (Justin) of Macon; and great-grandson, Liam Baugh. He was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Christine Berrong Langston.
