James Junior Caraway

James Junior Caraway, 85, of Jones County, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 2:00PM at Hart’s Mortuary, Jones County Chapel, with burial at Middle Georgia Memory Gardens. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service.  

Mr. Caraway was a native of Ozark, Alabama. In addition to raising his children, he worked in construction for over sixty years. He also loved to play the guitar, fish, and do woodworking projects.  Mr. Caraway also loved to garden and watch westerns.  

He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Martha Snell Caraway; parents, Lunie Russell and Lillie Mae Caraway; and brother, Oneal Caraway. 

Mr. Caraway is survived by his children, Brad Loyal (Maulena), Gwen Barefield (Chuck), Alisa Phillips (Allen), Charles Caraway (Lisa), and James Caraway (Dawn); step-daughters Cara Watson (Pat) and Terri Andrews; grandchildren, Spencer Loyal (Leslie), Stephanie Thomas (Jason), Brandon Barefield (Jamie), Matt Barefield (Ashley), Zandi Foss (Jarrod), Kaylin Caraway, Liana Caraway, Camryn Caraway, Whitney Shifflet (A.J.) and Taylor Butler (Garette); eleven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
