Harry Lee Couch, 93, of Macon, died peacefully Friday, November 19, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church with the Reverend Marcus Tripp officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. The family will greet friends Monday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Hart’s Mortuary, Cherry Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, PO Box 149, Macon, Georgia 31202, or the Methodist Home, PO Box 2525, Macon, Georgia, 31203.
He served in the United States Army from 1946 to 1947 and was employed at Robins Air Force Base for thirty-two years. He enjoyed camping throughout the United States and loved sports of all kinds.
Mr. Couch, a lifelong resident of Macon, was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church where he was active with the Joy Sunday School Class and the Scampers Camping Group. Mr. Couch graduated from Lanier High School in 1945. He is the son of the late Jerome and Johncie Smith Couch. He is predeceased by his wife, Hazel Grace Couch; his daughter, Leigh Couch Hayes; and his brothers, Fred and Harold Couch.
Mr. Couch is survived by two children, Tim Couch (Cathy) of Gainesville, Georgia, and Christie Couch Jones (Christopher) of Buckhead, Georgia; eight grandchildren, Heather Hayes Stenger, Heidi Hayes Weitzel (Chris), Hope Hayes, Hillary Hayes Faustini (Mike), Lauren Couch Werle (Mark), Maj. Taylor Couch (Maureen), Emily Couch Sager (Dylan), and Jonathan Jones; seven great-grandchildren, Caleb Stenger, Hailey Weitzel, Skyleigh and Brody Faustini, Mason and Harrison Werle, Emma Couch; and many nieces and nephews.
