Hannah Cole McDonald Greene, 88, of Macon, entered into rest on Tuesday, November 16, 2021, after a brief illness.
Hannah was born on July 15, 1933 to the late Ernest Anthony McDonald and Annie Willis McDonald. She graduated from Chauncey High School (Dodge County), and Andrew College (Cuthbert, Georgia), and attended Mercer University, where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class. Hannah worked at Robins Air Force Base for six years, and co-owned a beauty shop, but she spent most of her career working at Macon Technical Institute until the love of her life, Em, was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. She retired to take care of Em. Hannah volunteered with Hospice of Central Georgia, and later served on their Board. She also served on The Macon Hospital Authority. She was the President of the Richland Estates Homeowners Association for many years and a member of the Macon Women’s Club, and the Dealing Dozen, her beloved bridge club.
Hannah is survived by her daughter, Julie Julius (Denny), of Macon, Georgia; son, McDonald Crosby (Ann), of Rutledge, Tennessee; grandchildren, Stormy Moore (Ray), of Knoxville, Tennessee, and Blake Herndon (Jessica) of Macon, Georgia; sister in love, Janet McDonald, of Brunswick, Georgia; nieces, Missy Morrison (Scott), of Brunswick, Georgia, and Mandy Berretta (Michael), of Brookhaven, Georgia; great nieces and nephews, Mac Morrison (MaryAnna), of Saint Simons Island, Georgia, Rachel Morrison, of Brunswick, Georgia, Hannah Berretta and Nicholas Berretta, of Brookhaven, Georgia, and the next generation, Maupin James Morrison; several other nieces and nephews; and her companion puppy, Molly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory Greene; her parents; daughter, Kathryn Crosby; and brother, Thomas Ernest McDonald.
Funeral services will be held in the sanctuary at Mulberry Street United Methodist Church, Friday February 18th with Rev. Creed Hinshaw officiating. Visitation is scheduled in the sanctuary from 11-12 prior to the service. A reception will be held in the clubhouse at Richland Estates following the service.
