George Lawrence Britt

George Lawrence Britt, 73, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 13, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Martha Bowman United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends for a visitation one hour prior to the service.

Son of the late William Lawrence Britt and Sara Jo Connelly Britt, Larry was born in Macon, Georgia on December 7, 1950. Larry possessed a grand personality that never met a stranger. He loved coaching baseball, fishing, and hunting. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He graduated from Willingham High School in 1969, was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and he attended Mercer University. In the beginning of his career, he worked in Real Estate and later he transitioned to selling heavy machinery and forestry equipment.

Larry will be remembered by his loving wife of 53 years, Michele Jerkins Britt; his children, Shannon Britt (Rachel) of Macon, Georgia, Paul Britt (Stephanie) of McKinney, Texas, and Matthew Britt (Deena) of Leslie, Georgia; his sister, Robin Cantrell (David) of Bushnell, Florida; his brother-in-law, Gary Jerkins (Darnell);and his six grandchildren: Fisher Britt, Ella Britt, Kate Britt, Mary Frances Britt, Annalise Britt, and Evelyn Britt.
