George E. Brewer

George E. Brewer, 87, of Jones County, died Friday, October 23, 2020.  Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, October 26, 2020 at Elam Memorial Gardens with Pastor Roger Browher officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Affinis Hospice, 110 Stone Brook Drive, Gray, GA 31032 or Calvary Baptist Church, P.O. Box 66, Mcintyre, GA 31054. 

Mr. Brewer was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He had 20 years of faithful service in the U.S. Navy serving most of his career on a submarine in the United States Sixth Fleet in the eastern Mediterranean Sea.  He was presented with several meritorious commendations.  Following his Naval career, he worked at Grumman Aerospace for 10 years.  Mr. Brewer was truly a God-fearing family man who loved gardening, cooking, and fishing on the lake. He was predeceased by his parents, George Dwight Brewer and Bessie Lee Lindon Brewer; his first wife, Jacqueline Beech Brewer; and six sisters and two brothers. 

Mr. Brewer is survived by his wife, Jackie Brewer of Jones County; six children, Stephanie Smith of Macon, Pamela B. Davis (Chuck) of Gray, George E. Brewer Jr. Of Naples, Florida, M. Lisa Jackson (Rick) of Warner Robins, Yvette B. Jackson (Franky) of Gray, and Kristi L. B. Malone (Bryan) of Gray; four stepchildren, Bill Carr (Sharon) of Irwinton, Debbie Lake of Macon, Susan Harrison of Milledgeville, and Mickey Carr (Kelly) of Lake Oconee; 17 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren.
