Gene Clance, Sr., 86, of Macon, died Monday, June 7, 2021. A memorial service will be held Thursday, June 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cupola with the Reverends Charles Houston and Antonie Walker officiating. A reception will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside United Methodist Church, 735 Pierce Ave., Macon, GA 31204.
Son of the late Carol and Eunice Kitchens Clance, Mr. Clance loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a devoted grandfather and great provider for his family. Mr. Clance was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church, a member of the Optimist Club and the Gideons International. He also oversaw fundraising for Hospice of Central Georgia. He was the owner of Clance Chrysler Plymouth from the late 1960s until 1990. He then opened an advertising company, Clance and Company.
Mr. Clance was preceded in death by his son, Craig Richard Clance, and brothers, James Clance and Royce Clance.
Mr. Clance is survived by his wife, Linda Clance of Macon; son, Gene Carol Clance, Jr. (Patricia) of Macon; daughters, Kathy Freeman (Richie) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jennifer Carter (Jim) of Valdosta, Georgia; 7 grandchildren, Christina Wade, Adam Clance, David Clance, Ben Clance, Madison Carlo (Seth), Abigail Carter, and Clancey Grace Carter; and 5 great grandchildren.
