Gary Randolph Keene

Gary Randolph Keene, 90, of Macon, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. The family will greet friends for a time of visitation on Friday, January 10, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, in the Chapel of Hart’s Mortuary on Cherry Street.  Gary will be laid to rest at Snow United Methodist Church Cemetery, located in Unadilla, Georgia, with Reverend Ethan Brown officiating.  Gary was a member of Highland Hills Baptist Church, 1370 Briarcliff Road, Macon, Georgia 31211.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Highland Hills’ Grounds Fund.

Gary was born on November 28, 1934, in Soperton, Georgia, to the late Ovid B. Keene and Lavada Deriso Keene. He was a 1953 graduate of Treutlen County High School. He served his country in the United States Army.  For many years, Gary worked for Bibb Manufacturing Company and later retired from Georgia Farm Bureau.  He loved his family, his Church, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, the Georgia Bulldogs, and playing golf.

Gary is survived by his wife of sixty-five years, Jean Peavy Keene. He is also survived by his son, Gary R. “Randy” Keene, Jr. (Gina) and daughter, Marti Jennifer Wilson (Chad), all of Macon; grandchildren, Samantha Hammock (Cody), Emily Keene, and Elliott Wilson; and his brother, James Keene (Helen) of Ashville, North Carolina.  He is preceded in death by his parents.
