Freddy Ray Jackson, 87, of Macon, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022. A graveside service will be held Monday, May 2, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery with Dr. Laudis H. Lanford officiating.
Son of the late Alton and Arrie Curl Jackson, Mr. Jackson was born in Lovett, Georgia and lived his adult life in Macon-Bibb County. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He also served as the Bibb County Tax Commissioner for over 30 years and an active Free Mason for more than 60 years. As a 33rd degree Mason, he was Grand Master in 2005 and 2006. Mr. Jackson was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church. He was an avid sportsman and woodworker.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Barbara Richardson Jackson, and 8 brothers and sisters, Graham Jackson, Junior Jackson, Ruby J. Flanders, Will Jackson, Jetty J. Harvill, Ann J. Pursley, Allen Jackson, and Teddy Jackson.
Mr. Jackson is survived by his sister, Sue J. Dixon and her husband, Billy of Dublin, Georgia and many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
