Frank Edward "Ed" James, Jr., 78, of Macon, Georgia, passed away Thursday, November 4, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm, Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the chapel of Hart's at the Cupola. The family will greet friends following the service.
Born September 21, 1943, in Kynesville, Fl, Ed was the son of the late Frank Edward James, Sr. and Lillian Irene Sexton.
Ed began his career serving in the US Air Force during the Vietnam era and later, on the Wichita Falls TX police department. He received a degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University in 1970. He worked as a canteen officer at the VA Hospital in Dublin, GA and later as a pharmaceutical sales representative for Marion Laboratories in Texas. In 1979 he moved his family to Macon, to open Ten Minute Lube, the first automotive fast lube center in the area. He later expanded his business to include five Jiffy Lube locations in Macon and Warner Robins, GA. His business was a tremendous source of pride and accomplishment.
Ed had a love for all things mechanical. He was a car and motorcycle enthusiast, as well as a private pilot. He was generous and helping others gave him great joy. He never met a stranger and left a lasting impression on many.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Elizabeth E. James.
Survivors include his children, Jessica L. James of Macon, and Justin E. James (Rachael) of Charleston, SC; brother, Mitchell James (Edna) of Marianna, FL; grandchildren, Noah James, Ellis James, Lily James and Henry James; and nephews and niece, Russell Ion (Jennifer), Robert James, and Carrie James; and dear friend, Carol Carden.
