Felton Harris, born in Macon, GA, a well-known resident of Macon, a lover of classic cars and telling jokes, passed away peacefully with his loving family and compassionate caregivers, Haylee Hurley and Marshall Hodgman by his side Thursday, September 30, 2021.
Felton is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 39 years, Elizabeth. His daughter, Amy Thomas (Eddie) of Macon; grandson, James Lumley (Amber) of Haddock; granddaughter, Stephanie Lumley of Jones County; and great-grandchildren, Kensleigh, Kason and Kamryn; and sister-in-law, Gayle Frazier. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and great nieces, and nephews.
Felton was the owner and operator of Pay-N-Tak Food Shoppe on Broadway for 32 years. He took pleasure in serving his loyal customers and the friendships he made through his business. Felton and Elizabeth resided on Lake Sinclair and enjoyed working in their yard together.
Felton is preceded in death by his parents, Atlee and Callie Ard Harris and 11 precious siblings.
Felton also leaves behind his heart-throb red, restored 1965 Mustang and his pride and joy, restored 1978 black El Camino.
The visitation for Mr. Harris will be held Monday, October 4, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Hart’s Cherry Street Chapel. Funeral Services will begin at 1:00 p.m. with graveside services immediately following at the Harris Family private cemetery.
