Emmett Leon McDaniel, 79, of Macon, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, June 10th, 2022.
A private memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate his life.
Leon was born in Thomaston, Georgia to the late William F. McDaniel and Dorothy Braswell McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Annie Joyce McDaniel; brother, Braswell McDaniel; sister, Mary Brand; and granddaughter, Stephanie Weis Koslow.
Leon is survived by three daughters, Penny Weis (Vince), Dodi Good (Thane), and Dina Atkinson (Jason); five grandchildren: Matthew Weis (Heidi), Bailey Good, Alex Good, Hunter Fleenor, and Carter Atkinson; three great-grandchildren, Sarah Koslow, Palmer Weis, and Paisley Weis; two sisters, Freda Herndon (Rudy) and Shirley Harden (Gary); two brothers, Billy McDaniel (Sheryl) and Marshall McDaniel (Rhonda); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Leon was employed as an aircraft mechanic at Cochran Field for many years, and later was the owner/operator of McDaniel Paint Contractors for over 40 years.
Leon loved spending time with his family and friends, especially family trips to Jackson Lake, Jekyll Island, and Panama City Beach. He had many hobbies including fishing, woodworking, and gardening. Leon was a member of St. Andrew Christian Church in Macon.
