Eleanor Mary Sanda

Eleanor Mary Sanda, 72, of Martinez, Georgia, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023. A private inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Macon, Georgia.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pine Pointe Hospice, 6261 Peake Road, Macon, Georgia 31210.

Daughter of the late Frank Joseph Sanda and Mary J. Sanda, Eleanor was born in Montgomery, Alabama on December 16, 1950. She was a proud graduate of Georgia Southern University, where she earned a degree in Early Childhood Education. Her passion for teaching and nurturing young minds led her to a fulfilling 30-year career as an elementary school teacher in the Richmond County School System. Her dedication to her students was unwavering, and she was known for her ability to inspire a love of learning in all her students. Her impact on the community was profound, and she will be remembered fondly by the many lives she touched.  Aside from her career, Eleanor enjoyed traveling to the Holy Land. Her spirituality and her Bible studies were a big part of her life.

Eleanor is survived by her siblings, Francis Sanda (Paula) of Auburn, Alabama, Barbara Sanda of Perry, Georgia, and David Sanda (Sue) of Macon, Georgia; nieces and nephews, Mike Sanda (Elaine), Mark Sanda (Allison), Michelle Keesee (Scott), Charles Sanda (Mallory), and Amy Payne (John); and several great nieces and nephews.
