Elaine Pollock Dreizin

August 12, 1929 — December 25, 2023

Macon

In Loving Memory of Elaine Pollock Dreizin,

Elaine Pollock Dreizin passed away peacefully at her home on December 25, 2023, surrounded by her loving daughters. She left a legacy of love, laughter, and lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to have known her.

Born in Brooklyn, NY to Sophie and Sam Pollock, Elaine moved to Macon as a child. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She touched the lives of many with her kindness, compassion, and unwavering support.

Elaine built a successful career in retail, first joining her parents at Jos. N. Neel’s where she owned the lingerie department. Elaine was passionate about helping women feel comfortable after breast cancer surgery. Elaine’s was the first business in Middle Georgia that offered post-mastectomy prosthetics and related lingerie to women. In 2004, she moved the business to a freestanding location on Cherry Street where she and her daughter, Lori Dreizin Garrett, continued to offer exceptional service to the women of Middle Georgia. Elaine was known for her expertise, dedication, and compassion.

Elaine's greatest joy came from her role as a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent. She took immense pride in her family, and her unconditional love and guidance will forever be remembered and cherished.

Known for her warm heart and infectious smile, Elaine had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. Her sense of humor and wit brought joy to countless gatherings, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to share in her company.

Elaine enjoyed reading, tennis, travel, and most importantly, spending time with her family. She was always first on the dance floor and took pleasure in entertaining friends and guests with tasteful dinner parties. She was deeply connected to her religion and was active in charitable organizations such as Hadassah and her temple and synagogue sisterhoods, to name a few.

Elaine is survived by her three daughters, Barbara Friedenberg (Ricky), Lori Garret (Matt), and Jill Levine (Hank), her loving grandchildren Brian Friedenberg (Heather), Erin Rubinstein (Jordan), Sammi Levine and Calli Levine, and her great-grandchildren Jake Friedenberg, Josh Rubinstein and Elle Rubinstein. She is also survived by her devoted care team whom she considered family: Mareia Wimberly, Laverne Wimberly, Brenda Truss, Marchanda Sneed, and Tina Lasey. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to share in her journey through life.

Graveside services will take place on Wednesday, December 27 at Rose Hill Cemetery at 11:00AM, located at 1071 Riverside Drive. Shiva minyan will begin at 5:30PM. Shiva is 7-9PM on Wednesday and Thursday at 4923A Rivoli Drive. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Temple Beth Israel or Congregation Sha’arey Israel in Macon.
